Welcome

I've written for a respectable range of magazines and newspapers, from New York's Condé Nast Traveler and Psychology Today to The National Post and Montreal's The Gazette. One of my favourite editors, The Gazette's Evangeline Sadler, once said: “You have a way with words, John.” That's why she's one of my favourite editors.

I also appear regularly on CBC's national radio program The Sunday Edition with Michael Enright, where another of my favourite editors, Karen Levine, said: “I do love your personal essays, John.” She says I may have broken The Sunday Edition record for appearances, but that's between Karen and me. Sharing that with the public would be boastful, and therefore un-Canadian. Karen is also an award-winning author of the best-selling children's book, Hana's Suitcase. Mum's the word.

Cover stories I’ve written for Montreal’s The Gazette include “My total gym fees are... what?!” and “Goodbye FACE, hello world,” and are in my Clips and Articles section. My radio bits are there, too.
